A goal. An ambition. A dream?
“This might work.
This might not work.
But something will happen.
And whatever happens, you can figure out what to do with that…” (Seth Godin, 2014)
What you start hoping for, might not be what you finish getting. It won’t be a straight road. You wouldn’t trust it, if it was. The marathon runner expects to be tired. No-one ever wrote the book “Olympic Gold without the pain?” Pain and discomfort is good. Our senses are intact. The alcoholic became addicted because the hangover wasn’t bad enough. Numbing the symptoms is like breaking the dial.
Face the truth. Action precedes clarity.
You don’t have to refine the goal yet, you just have to decide to do something about the pain.
And then… what if you ended up getting something far better than you had a right to dream of?? Further down the road than you thought possible? Start something. See what happens.
“What if you slept, and what if in your dream, you dreamed.
And what if in your dream, you went to heaven and there picked a strange and beautiful flower.
And what if, when you awoke, you had the flower in your hand.
Ah what then?” Samuel Taylor Coleridge
